Gap has about 85% of its tall section on sale, Athleta has leggings at 30% off and Forever Fleece at 40% off, and J.Crew has fall jeans, work pants and wool-blend dresses at 30% off.
Old Navy’s holiday party collection arrived at half off
The Occasion by Old Navy came out in tall with bow-back, satin and taffeta mini dresses at $25, a taffeta midi skirt at $20 and velvet tops from $15. Sweaters are $15 to $25, the Extra High-Waisted Wide-Leg Jeans are $25 with sizes 2 to 18, and the Oversized Longline Overcoat is $45. See the Old Navy report.
Gap has jeans from $35 and CashSoft from $31
The High Rise ’70s Flare and Stride Wide-Leg jeans are $53 with every size from 24 to 35, and several other tall jeans are $35 in black. The CashSoft Tie-Neck Sweater is $31 in four colors, and the CashSoft Crew Sweater and Crop Cardigan are $34. See our Gap report.
Athleta has Forever Fleece at 40% off

What this means for the next few weeks
This is a good week to buy at every store, since all four have a promotion running at once. Promotions at Old Navy, Gap and J.Crew have usually lasted about a week this fall, so order within a few days.
At Old Navy, buy the holiday dresses early. New party styles sell through the middle sizes first, and they are already at half off.
At Gap, compare colors before you order. The same jean or sweater can be $20 or more apart from one color to the next.
At Athleta, the Forever Fleece is the strongest deal. The new winter outerwear is full price.
At J.Crew, the holiday velvet and satin pieces are full price. The 30% off group is the better buy this week, and the Stratus satin pant in Black covers a holiday party for $50.
