Old Navy put nearly its whole tall section on sale this week, at a flat 50% off. Our earlier report covers the jeans and fleece. Seven days later almost every tall style in the store is marked down, and the large majority of the sale sits at exactly 50% off.

Sweaters, activewear, pants and tees are on sale too
Every tall sweater and cardigan is on sale, along with activewear, pants and tees.
The single flat rate is the part to pay attention to. When a store marks down a handful of slow sellers, the discounts land at uneven depths. When one rate covers most of the store at once, it is a timed event with an end date rather than clearance.
Activewear is where the drop is biggest

What to do about it
A flat rate across a whole store runs on a schedule, so the timing here is straightforward. If you want tall activewear, fleece or basic tees from Old Navy this fall, this is the week to buy them.
The denim is a separate decision. There is less reason to rush on those.
Sizes are the usual constraint. The tall runs are complete on most of what we listed above, and that stops being true quickly once a sale this wide gets going.
