Old Navy started a sitewide sale this week, and almost every tall style in the store now carries a discount. Jeans, activewear and pajamas took the biggest cuts at 50% off, while sweaters, blouses and the new fall coats sit at 20% to 30% off.

Tall jeans at $25
Extra High-Waisted Wide-Leg Jeans · $25 (was $50), 50% off, tall 2 to 18, Dark Wash
Nearly every wash is $25 with every size from 2 to 18, including Dawn Cuff, Faded Black Wash, Rocco, Earthen and the Forest Tapestry print. The Curvy Extra High-Waisted Wide-Leg Jeans are $22 (was $45) in Black Wash with the same complete run.

What to do about it
Buy tall jeans this week. The fleece at $15 to $25 is the other strong buy, with complete runs in nearly every color.
Most of the sale prices this week end in 49 or 99 cents, which is the math of a timed promotion taken off the list price. Old Navy’s large promotions this fall have usually lasted about a week, so plan to order within a few days. Prices ending in 97 cents are standing clearance and tend to stay put until they sell out.
The sweaters and new coats can wait. At 20% to 30% off they are well short of the half off rate Old Navy reached on sweaters in late September.
