Banana Republic joins Tall Report this week, so we now follow the tall sections at five stores. Gap has the biggest sale, with nearly every tall style at 50% off. Old Navy has sweaters, cardigans and coats at half off, Athleta has a 40% off group that covers leggings, Forever Fleece and jackets, J.Crew has clearance on summer dresses and skirts, and Banana Republic has a small sale on fall pants.
Gap has nearly all of tall at half off

What this means for the next few weeks
At Gap, buy this week. Sale prices ending in whole dollars are the pattern of a timed promotion, and Gap’s promotions this fall have usually lasted about a week.
At Old Navy, the 50% off coats and sweaters are the strongest buys, and promotions there have also run about a week. Clearance prices ending in 97 cents, like the $9 OG Loose Jeans, stay until sizes sell out.
At Athleta, the Forever Fleece and work pants are the best value at 40% off with long size runs.
At J.Crew, every markdown is clearance, so prices stay put and the size run is the thing to watch. Buy now if your size is in stock.
