Old Navy’s tall sale share jumped from 65% to 85% this week. That reads like a storewide clearance, and it is closer to a trade. A large batch of tall styles went on sale, almost all of them activewear and tees, while a run of jeans got repriced back up. The activewear wave
TrekTech Oversized Jacket · $33 (was $55), tall S to XXL, three colors
Black Jack, Cloisonne, Sweet Sixteen, 96 reviews at 4.6, full tall size run in every color. Forty percent off a packable outer layer right as the weather turns is good timing.
Two pieces from last week’s own new-arrivals list are already discounted. The Water-Resistant Oversized Bubble-Hem Zip Bomber, which launched at $65 seven days ago, is $45 now. The High-Waisted PowerSoft Flare Leggings, also brand new last week at $45, are $31. And the five-color Mid-Rise Woven Utility Pants we called out as a five-colorway commitment last week dropped from $50 to $35 across the board.
If that feels fast, it is. Two weeks ago we reported Old Navy’s StudioSmooth leggings going from $18 back up to $45. This week the StudioSmooth 7/8 Pocket Leggings are back on sale at $27, and the Full-Length version at $24. Both shallower than the last promo, but both back. Old Navy’s activewear discounts do not stay off for long.
Tees, dresses, and sweaters joined in
Activewear accounts for 74 of the 293 newly discounted styles, and Tall T-Shirts & Tanks another 74. Dresses added 17, including the PowerChill Scoop-Back Athletic Dress at $27 (was $45), and the SoSoft V-Neck Cardigan Sweater in Blue Plaid or Red Plaid dropped to $38 from $55. Smaller batches hit leggings, sweatpants, blouses, and sweatshirts. Almost nothing at Old Navy is safe from a markdown this week except, apparently, denim.
What went the other way
The Arc Mid-Rise Barrel Jeans, the pair we called “the most interesting new arrival on the list” last week at its launch price of $40, is back to $50 in all three washes (Bella, Light Wash, Rinse), and it has company. More than a dozen colorways of the Extra High-Waisted Wide-Leg Jeans and Curvy Extra High-Waisted Wide-Leg Jeans went from $40 to $50, and a handful of flare and straight styles moved from $36 to $45:

If you had denim in your cart, it got more expensive this week. If you had almost anything else, it probably got cheaper.
The 25 new arrivals are mostly proven sellers, newly in tall
Old Navy added only 25 new tall styles, and the notable ones are restocks of existing bestsellers rather than new designs: the High-Waisted Wow Super-Skinny Jeans (38,414 reviews at 4.6) in Indigo, the Snug V-Neck Crop T-Shirt (12,684 reviews) in Calla Lilies, and the High-Waisted SleekTech Joggers (11,151 reviews) in Black. These are not fresh designs, they are Old Navy’s most-reviewed regular-line styles finally getting a tall cut, which is arguably better news than a genuinely new piece would be.
The TLDR summary
Skip Old Navy’s jeans this week; you’ll pay $10 more than you would have seven days ago. Everything else is fair game, especially the TrekTech Jacket at 40% off and the leggings that are, once again, on sale. If you missed the StudioSmooth deal two weeks ago, this is your second chance, just a little shallower.
