Athleta’s tall sale has been on a rollercoaster for a month. Three weeks ago, 60% of the tall range was discounted. Two weeks ago, that pulled back to 40%. This week it climbed again, to 55%, with 41 tall styles newly marked down and only one going the other way. The typical discount held at 30% off both times, so this is a wider sale, not a deeper one. Athleta’s best-reviewed jacket, 30% off with a full tall size run intact. This is the pick of the week if you buy one thing.
Skyline High Rise Barrel Leg Pant · $97 (was $139), tall 0 to 16, black, 3,836 reviews at 4.7
The black colorway joins Slate, which we flagged at $60 (55% off) in last week’s sale radar and is still sitting there discounted. Same pant, two colors, two different discount depths.
Pinnacle High Rise Trouser · $90 (was $129), tall 0 to 16, three colors, 2,970 reviews at 4.7
Truffle, black, navy, all 30% off with the full size run in stock in most colors. This is Athleta’s most-reviewed trouser and it does not go on sale often.
Endless High Rise Barrel Pant · $83 (was $119), tall 0 to 16, four colors
A newer style, only 21 reviews so far, but launched with four colorways now all discounted at once.
Outerwear took the deepest cuts
Jacket season markdowns are running well ahead of jacket season:

Most of these are down to one or two sizes left. If your size is in stock on the Stellar Trench at $120, that is a today decision, not a maybe-next-week one.
The one new style
Move With Ease Top · $41 (was $59), tall S to XL, black, 1,963 reviews at 4.6
Athleta added exactly one new tall style this week, and it launched already discounted. Not a new design either, 1,963 existing reviews say this has been in Athleta’s regular lineup for a while and just got a tall cut.
Worth a small note: a handful of items had their discount trimmed slightly rather than reverting outright, mostly the Elation Ultra High Rise Straight Leg Pant and the Venice High Rise Jogger, each losing about 10 points of discount. Only one top went fully back to full price.
The TLDR summary
Athleta’s sale keeps growing without getting shallower, which is the good version of this pattern; you’re not waiting for a deeper cut, you’re waiting for your size and color to show up in the expanding pool. The Jetset Bomber and the Skyline Barrel Pant are the strongest combination of price, reviews, and size availability this week. Outerwear is where the real percentage cuts are, but check sizes before you get attached.
