Gap put 56 more new tall styles on the site this week, on top of the 34 we counted seven days ago. Ninety new pieces in two weeks is a real fall rollout. But the character of this batch is different: last week was CashSoft sweaters and $90 brushed twill trousers, this week leans into workwear pants, pajamas, and tees. Gap’s tall sale rack barely moved, holding at 65% of styles discounted versus 70% last week, with the typical cut steady at 40% off. Our Gap tall fit guide covers how these cuts run.
The workwear group
Low Rise ’90s Loose Double-Knee Carpenter Pants · $100, tall 00 to 20, four colors

Cobblestone beige, terra brown, district green, black, all in a full numeric 00 to 20 tall run. Double-knee carpenter pants are having a moment everywhere, and Gap’s version launched with real size coverage instead of a single test color.
Mid Rise Barrel Utility Ankle Pants · $90, tall 00 to 20, four colors, 38 reviews at 4.0
Terra brown, sargassus blue, black, black moss green. This one already has a review history, so it is a restock rather than a debut, but it is new to this week’s tall catalog.
Canvas Easy Baggy Barrel Cargo Pants · $90, tall S to XXL, black and bamboo green
Rounds out the pants story: three utility silhouettes launched in the same two weeks, all in the $90 to $100 band.
More CashSoft, at a range of prices
CashSoft Oversized Argyle Sweater · $100, tall S to XXL, brown argyle
The most expensive new sweater of the week, and a pattern rather than a solid, which is a departure from last week’s eight-color CashSoft crewneck. If you remember that the plain CashSoft crewneck now runs $70 after last week’s $10 price bump, the argyle version at $100 is the premium tier of the same fabric.
CashSoft Crew Sweater · $70, tall S to XXL, black
CashSoft Oversized Cardigan Sweater · $90, tall S to XXL, cool brown heather
The rest is basics
This week’s drop skews toward things you wear under other things, not statement pieces:
- Denim Tie-Belt Midi Dress · $118, tall S to XXL, medium wash
- Voile Smocked-Waist Maxi Dress · $100, tall S to XXL, navy blue plaid
- Vegan Suede Mini Shift Dress · $80, tall S to XXL, rich ginger brown
- Maxi Slip Skirt · $80, tall S to XL, true black or navy blue uniform
- SoftMade Modal PJ Pants · $50, tall S to XXL, terra brown, 2,906 reviews at 4.6
- Adult VintageSoft Arch Logo Zip Hoodie · $55 (was $70), tall M to XXXL, terra brown, 1,894 reviews at 4.8
The PJ pants and the hoodie both arrive with thousands of existing reviews, more proof that this week is about extending proven basics into tall sizing rather than launching anything new to the brand.
One caveat that keeps coming up in our Gap coverage: a batch of ’90s Loose Jeans landed in waist-and-length sizing (32W 36L, 34W 36L, 36W 36L) rather than Gap’s usual tall lettering. We still do not track inseam length in our catalog, so check the product page spec before assuming those inseams clear a tall frame the way the rest of Gap’s tall line does.
The TLDR summary
If you want a new fall piece, the carpenter pants are the pick, four colors and a genuinely complete size run at $100. Everything else this week is Gap filling in basics rather than making a statement, which is fine if you needed a PJ set or a plain sweater, less exciting if you were hoping for a repeat of last week’s trouser drop. The sale rack did not move, so last week’s 40%-off standing deals are still there if the new stuff does not grab you.
