The dresses came back
The growth is relisting rather than new product. A batch of tall styles that were missing last week is available again, and only one style dropped off in the same period.
The returns are concentrated in dresses and jumpsuits, which is the category that emptied out last week, followed by relaxed and wide-leg pants and a handful of skirts and tops.
The returning dresses are deeply cut and thin on sizes
The prices here are strong and the size runs are limited, so check your size before you get attached to one.

Most of the returning dresses came back with one or two sizes on the page. If yours is listed, it is worth moving on, and if it is missing, a second restock is now a reasonable thing to hope for.
Prices barely moved
The selection changed a lot and the pricing did almost nothing. Among styles that stayed in stock all week, only a handful of prices moved, and most of those went up.

The Tall Soleil pant in linen in Smoked Walnut is the pick of these: $75 from $98, and the only one with a complete tall XS to XXL run.
A few more styles changed price by coming back into stock rather than being repriced on the shelf, which is worth separating out:

The slim-wide jean in White Denim is the cautionary one. It was $45 when it sold out and it is back at $148. The Charley kickout did the same thing on the shelf, going from $90 to $148. When a J.Crew clearance line sells through, the restock tends to come back at list price.
The standing deals are where we left them

The Tall Margeaux blazer in Navy is one of the styles that came back, at $248 rather than the $268 it left at, with the complete tall 2 to 16 run.
The deepest cut in the store is the Tall cropped Stratus pant in block print in Faded Black at $39 from $148, 75% off, with an unusually complete size run. Read the name along with the price: it is cropped, so on a tall frame that is an above-the-ankle piece by design.
The corduroy update
Tall Zoe barrel pant in stretch corduroy in Smoked Walnut is still $148 with the complete tall 25 to 32 waist run, unchanged for a third week. Pale Bone and Cooper Grey, which vanished last week, have stayed gone.
The TLDR summary
We were wrong last week, and the correction is worth carrying. A J.Crew tall style disappearing can mean it comes back within the week, often cheaper than when it left.
The size point held up, though. The returns are deeply discounted and thin, and the two items that have survived four weeks unchanged, the Kate pant and the Black Stratus, remain the only deep cuts here with complete tall runs. Buy those on price. Buy the returning dresses on availability. 👗
