Three of the four stores we follow reset their prices this week. Gap sat still. Roughly 19 of every 20 tall styles that were in stock both weeks carry exactly the same price today as they did seven days ago, which makes Gap the one place where last week’s advice still applies unchanged.
That steadiness is the story, and it comes with a practical benefit. Gap’s tall denim now has the widest waist runs and the most stable pricing of the four stores, so it is the easiest place to shop without watching the calendar.

Every tall jean at Gap carries a markdown for a second week, with a typical cut around 30%. The headline numbers held, and so did the individual prices behind them.

The four best tall deals at Gap right now
High Rise ’90s Slim Straight Jeans · $35 (was $120), 70% off, tall 27 to 32, Poetic black
The deepest cut on a full-length tall jean at Gap, with a six-size waist run in Poetic black. The other washes of this jean sit at $44 and up, so this colorway is doing something the rest of the style is not.
High Rise ’70s Flare Jeans · $44 (was $90), 50% off, tall 24 to 35, four washes
Still the widest tall waist run at any of the four stores, running 24 to 35, and all four washes carry it at $44. We named this last week and it has not moved.
Low Rise Twill Long & Lean Pants · $39 (was $80), 50% off, tall 00 to 20, Black moss green
A full-length twill trouser with a 00 to 20 run, which is the broadest size range on this list. Black is at the same $39 and Terra brown is $40.

Gap moved its fall knits into the tall shop, and two of them arrived already marked down.

Black ellis, Charcoal grey, Terra brown heather, Cool brown heather and Cobblestone beige, each with the complete S to XXL run. The CashSoft sweater pants have been one of the better tall lounge bottoms Gap makes, and arriving at 30% off is a good starting point.

Full price and a full size run. An oversized straight-hem cut is the sort of thing that works well on a long torso, so it is worth watching for a markdown later in fall.

What to do about it
Gap is the store where you can take your time this week. The prices held through a week when Old Navy, Athleta and J.Crew all reset theirs, and the denim markdowns have now stood for two weeks at the same numbers.
The size runs are where the urgency lives instead. The Cheeky Straight in Medium vintage destroy has thinned to three waists at a price that has held for weeks, which is the shape of a style that ends by selling out. The ’70s Flare at $44 still carries 24 to 35 in four washes, so that one has room.
For fall, the CashSoft sweater pants at $55 are the pick. A complete tall size run in five colors at 30% off on the first week is better than these usually start.
