Athleta added six new tall styles this week. Meanwhile, they put a 30 to 40 percent cut on a big chunk of everything else in the store, including plenty of tall.
The new stuff is the only thing in there at full price; it’s worth knowing before you talk yourself into paying $135 for a dress while a comparable one sits at 40 percent off two clicks away.

The plissé set
Featherweight Plissé Dress · $135, tall S–XL, black and pearl
Plissé pleating on a tall pattern is a nice piece of luck, because the vertical pleats keep their proportion when the dress gets longer. A lot of textures don’t. This is the piece on the list I’d actually spend money on.

The two basics
Wishful Cotton Dress · $89, tall S–XL, black, mystic, pearl
Three colors, full S to XL run in stock. A plain cotton dress is the kind of thing Athleta does well and charges a lot for. Eighty-nine dollars is the sticking point, especially this week when the sale rack is deep.
Signature Rib Scoop Tee · $59, tall S–XL, black and grey heather
$59 for a ribbed tee. Athleta’s Signature Rib holds up better than the price makes you expect, but it’s still a tee, and this one only comes in two colors.

Six new styles, all at full price during a 30 to 40 percent off event on the rest of the store. Two of the six are cropped.
If you’re shopping Athleta tall this week, I’d genuinely look at the sale section first. The Plissé dress is the exception, and only if you want it specifically. I’ll have a better read on all of these once actual reviews start landing.
